Table Work

Eleven of the twelve Gilbreth children.

Frank Gilbreth with a motion model...

With Cheaper by the Dozen rehearsals approaching, it's time to start doing "table work" (studying!). There is a lot of research to be done before we start, by jingo!

To start at the beginning...These pictures are all of Frank and the Gilbreth family! The characters are all non-fictional; The play (and the book, which I would recommend you read) are written by two of the Gilbreth children, Frank Jr. and Ernestine.

Here you can see the Gilbreths in action!

And if I may make one final recommendation for now...If you are going to watch a film of Cheaper by the Dozen. Watch this one!

I love Steve Martin...But the new movies are nothing like the play... Which reminds me; The family is "Gilbreth", not "Baker"; the dad an expert in motion study (see first video), not a coach; and no one calls anyone 'FedEx'...

I think you'll prefer the original (book, script and film).

:)
